(POSITION FILLED) A very friendly and sophisticated elderly lady is seeking a Sharer for her home to give her a mix of up to 10 hours of household help and company per week in exchange for low-cost accommodation within her detached house in Newington, Edinburgh.

The comfortable double bedroom is on the first floor with views over the front garden to the street beyond. The room will be furnished with a double bed, bedside table, wardrobe, chair, chest of drawers and a desk. Additionally, the sharer will have use of their own bathroom.

The shared areas include a country-style kitchen, a lounge with garden access, a formal living room and a downstairs bathroom. Outdoors, there is a large, attractive garden, a private driveway for parking and a garage available for secure bicycle storage. Facilities include the use of broadband, television, a washing machine and free parking on the adjoining street.

The property is located within a 10-minute walk from Cameron Toll shopping centre, a supermarket, public park, cafes, bars, and restaurants. It is also on a main bus route accessing the city centre in under 15 minutes.

Evelyn (the homeowner) would particularly value the reassurance and company of having a friendly person at her home in the evenings and overnight. She would like someone who is happy to help with general house duties such as setting the woodburning stove, grocery shopping, occasional cooking and someone to share dinner and conversation a few times a week. As a Sharer, your support would be up to 10 hours a week, and you would not be expected to help with any sort of personal care.

Evelyn is able-bodied, fit, and quite independent in the home and cooks for herself. Family visit each week, and there is a gardener and a cleaner who keep things in good order.

The ideal Sharer will be female, friendly, kind and reliable and someone who would enjoy sharing time together over a cup of tea, a glass of wine or an evening meal. Preferably 25+, non-smoker, and has the intention of sharing this home for 9 months or more.
