Enabling older homeowners to live happily in their homes, while building a friendship and providing helpful younger people the ability to live in a safe home while saving on living costs

Homeshare is a collaborative living arrangement where ‘homeowners’ offer a spare room and use of communal living space in their home to a person (‘sharer’) who will enjoy a safe and happy home at a reduced cost.

The homeowner will enjoy the company of a companion and the sharer will have a meaningful homesharing arrangement where both parties will benefit from companionship and support.

With head quarters in Edinburgh, Homeshare Scotland is Scotland’s only homeshare organisation which offers a safe and happy home for a young person and companionship and support for an older homeowner. This arrangement includes approximately 10 hours per week of agreed support by the sharer such as:

Providing companionship
Light housekeeping and grocery shopping
Cooking shared meals
Assisting with technology and light daily tasks
